Position statement on ACWS's belief that violence against women is a complex social issue that needs to have greater public attention and discussion. The naming of those killed contribute to public awareness and education of the public and helps to remove the stigma around domestic violence and failing to identify victims contributes to an ongoing silencing of the issue at the individual, community and societal levels.
